Culture is a gift from God. It shapes our identity, families and communities, and often contains traditions that communicate honour, belonging and celebration. Yet every culture has also been affected by sin. For this reason, Christians are not called to reject culture, nor to embrace it uncritically. We are called to evaluate every cultural practice in the light of Scripture.
